Burpple
Path + Pinterest for your food photography. Great looking app but the social integration needs a bit of work, I.E., theres no easy way to find my friends on my social networks that already are on burpple, seems at this point I have to manually search for each of them or discover new people..

Rant
Im roaming on singtel in Malaysia and I found out (through word of mouth that Singtel had this Bridge Data Roaming that will allow me unlimited data roaming in malaysia for 20 SGD. Okay maybe the price isn't that great but at least its convenient. Well, at least it was intended to be >:( So when I heard of this offer, I googled for it and found this site: http://info.singtel.com/sme/mobile/mobile-vases/bridge-dataroam The problem with this site is that it's not very obvious HOW to activate this service. That's supposed to be something that you could find within 5 seconds of hitting the site for the people who already know what they're getting and just want to know the how. I'm reading a book (which I will link on this post when I'm back on my PC where it's easier) that's called New Rules of Marketing and PR by David Meerman Scott and he talks about this, how agencies today are still stuck in the TV advertising mindset. They're not really thinking about all the possible audiences of the site when they build it. This site and my case is a perfect example. I mean, who reads Terms and Conditions?! okay, maybe we all should but people should remember that in this fast paced world, nobody is going to take their sweet time reading every single text on a webpage. Also, when I tried to activate the service (which took 3 roaming SMSs, this can probably be made easier and cost effective for the customer), it failed 3 TIMES! So I call their customer service center and go through their IVR. Why are there ADs before the options?! This is just procrastination! Companies should probably publish their options script, especially if they're a telco's call center that might be sevicing roaming customers. At least the CSR was nice enough to activate the service for me. But they say it'll take 2-4 hours. And I'm not really sure how to know it's active.
